Overview
Professional Appraisers of Texas, Inc. (“we”, “us”) is a real estate appraisal firm in
East Texas. We send text messages (SMS/MMS) only about the appraisal work we are doing for you or with you:
arranging and confirming property inspections, updates on an appraisal order, invoices and receipts, quotes
you asked for, notices to the appraisers in our referral network, and sign-in codes. We do not send
marketing or promotional texts.
What we text, and to whom
- Inspection scheduling and reminders — to the property contact on an appraisal order
(owner, borrower, tenant or real estate agent): finding a time for the inspection, access details such as gate
codes or pets, confirmations, a reminder the day before, rescheduling, and “on my way” notes.
- Order updates — to our clients, their representatives and borrowers: order received,
inspection scheduled or completed, report delivered, revision completed.
- Invoices and payments — to the person paying for an appraisal: the invoice with a secure
payment link, a reminder if it is unpaid, and a receipt.
- Quotes — to people who ask us for an appraisal quote: the quote and a follow-up about it.
- Referral network — to the colleague appraisers in our network: notice that an appraisal
request in their area has been referred to them, and their account statements.
- Our staff — to our own appraisers and staff: new assignments and schedule changes.
- Sign-in codes — to people who use our secure online portals: one-time verification codes.
How you agree to receive texts (consent)
- Property contacts and borrowers: we text you about the appraisal of the property after you agree
to it — when you give us your mobile number yourself, when you tell us by phone that texting is fine, or when
you text us.
- Numbers we receive from a lender or client: the lender, appraisal management company or client
who ordered the appraisal may give us the number of a borrower, owner, occupant or other person who can let us
in. We do not text that number until its owner says yes. We send one message only:
“Professional Appraisers of Texas: we’re arranging the appraisal for 123 Main St. Reply YES to get
texts about it, or STOP to opt out. Msg & data rates may apply.”
If you reply YES, we confirm it and then text you only about that appraisal. If you reply
STOP or do not reply, we send nothing more and reach you by phone or email instead.
- Clients and payers: you give us your mobile number when you order an appraisal, book with us
or ask for text updates.
- Quote requests: you tick “OK to text me” on our quote request form, or ask us
by phone or email to text you the quote.
- Referral network appraisers: you provide your mobile number and agree to receive referral
notices when you join our network. You can decline texts and still be part of the network.
- Staff and portal users: you provide your mobile number to us for work notices or sign-in codes.
Giving consent to receive texts is never a condition of buying any service from us.
How we ask on the phone
Most people agree on a phone call with our staff while we arrange the appraisal inspection. Before we text
anyone, we ask:
“May we text you at this number about the appraisal of [property address] — scheduling the
inspection, reminders and updates? Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP
at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.”
We text only if you say yes, and we record your consent (the date, the time, who agreed and who asked) on the
appraisal file. If you call or text us first and ask us to text you, we record it the same way.
How often
Message frequency varies with the work: usually a few messages per appraisal (for example, scheduling, a
confirmation, a reminder and a delivery notice). Referral and staff notices are sent only when there is
something to tell you. Message and data rates may apply.
Opting out & help
Reply STOP to any message at any time and we will stop texting that number; we will send one
text confirming you have opted out. Reply START to opt back in. Reply HELP for
help, or contact us at info@weappraisetexas.com or
(903) 686-0023.
